The Retail Store is OPEN

Current Update: Posted 1420 hours May 15, 2020

The Outback Western Wear retail store is now open for business 10a - 6p on Thursdays & Fridays, and 10a - 5p on Saturdays. If local business warrants, we may also open on Wednesday.  Stay tuned!

ONLINE SALES: We continue shipping online orders Monday through Friday, and sometimes Saturday.

LOCAL CUSTOMERS: If you live in a neighboring zip code, you can select LOCAL PICKUP on the website at check-out, and we can have your items ready for pickup on the next business day.  If you need to pickup your purchase the same day, please message us prior to placing the order via email or via the contact us page on the website. If your zip code does not provide the LOCAL PICKUP option, please let us know your ZIP and we can get it added to the website.  OR, you may simply use the store address as your Ship-To address.  Either way, we will call you when your purchase is ready for pickup.

C&W DANCE LESSONS: Come hell or high water, dance lessons will continue in June!  If you were scheduled for a class in April or May, please contact us to let us know whether you want to reschedule or a refund.  And, for everyone who didn't know we held dance lessons during the spring and summer months, click here for all the details.

BLACK JACK TRUNK SHOW BOOT ORDERS: Black Jack's manufacturing facility was shutdown for several weeks but will restart on May 18th.  I have been in contact with them to ensure the boots ordered at the Trunk Show in February will arrive as soon as possible.

We continue to wipe down frequently touched surfaces in order to maintain a safe environment for customers and employees alike.

Please don't hesitate to contact us via email with any questions.

Thank you so very much for your continued patronage.

Update: 1300 hours April 27, 2020

Another week, another update.

I was really, truly, very much hoping the Chinese virus would be history by now, so life could attempt to return to some sort of normalcy.  However, that's not happening just yet.   As a result, I'm cancelling the May dance classes which were scheduled to begin next week.  Everyone who has registered for a class in May will get a complete refund.  Please look for a refund confirmation email over the next few days.

Take care of yourselves.  We will get through this together.

Update: 1200 hours April 21, 2020

I hope everyone is doing well in quarantine.

Just a couple updates today...

1. If you are local, you may place your order for In-store Pick-up.  However, the website has to be configured for your zip code for you to see "In-store Pickup" as a shipping option.  If you don't see that option, simply use the store's address as your SHIP-TO address.  Once we pill your order, we will call you to arrange pick-up.  We are here at the retail store Monday through Friday from 10 am to about 1 or 2 pm.  Outside of this time frame, we can meet you at the store at a mutually agreed upon time for a front door package pick-up.

2. I spoke with Black Jack yesterday.  The city of El Paso is under a mandatory stay at home order from the mayor.  As a result, Black Jack is effectively shutdown.  Once the order is lifted, Black Jack will resume manufacturing the boots ordered at the February trunk show.  I'm so very sorry for the inconvenience as I know everyone is excited to get their boots.  However, it's not like we can go out dancing right now any ways.  :-)

Please don't hesitate to contact us via email with any questions.

As always, stay safe friends.  Wash your hands. :-)

Update: 1830 hours April 18, 2020

A few important things to note.

1. Texas is beginning to reopen for business.  For us, this means a couple things.  For one, we are making plans to reopen the retail store -- how and when is yet to be determined.  Additionally, we are also looking at implementing a few different options for in-store purchasing and online order pickup.  Stay tuned to this page

2. All of the shipping companies have suspended their service guarantees..  You can read what they have to say on their respective websites at the following links :  UPS & USPS

3. The boots ordered at the Black Jack trunk show in February are slowly trickling in.  Stay tuned for a phone call when your pair arrives.

There is light at the end of the tunnel folks.  Please don't hesitate to contact us via email should you have any questions.

As always, stay safe friends.

Update: 1400 hours April 2, 2020

At this time, various things are becoming apparent....

  • the COVID-19 contagion is not going away any time soon,
  • it's going to get worse before it gets better, and
  • the retail store will remain closed until the universal all-clear is sounded.

I continue to come in each morning and ship your online orders.  Using a highly valued and treasured container of Clorox wipes, I wipe down and clean the shipping computer and all common surfaces used in the shipping process.   So long as shipping companies USPS and UPS are deemed "necessary", I'll continue shipping Monday - Friday.

I've advised my employees they may elect to work or not work at their own discretion. (They know I'll send them home if they begin exhibiting any of the corona virus or flu-like symptoms.)  We have enough computers and they are situated far enough apart for each employee to be productive and also maintain a good distance from other employees.  I truly love and care for my employees, and want to maintain a healthy and happy group that's excited to work here long after COVID-19 dies down and society returns to some sort of normalcy.  It will definitely be a new normal.

I also very much appreciate all of our customers sticking with and patronizing us via the website.through this difficult time.

While our phones are off, please don't hesitate to contact us via email should you have any questions.  In the meantime, please, wash your hands.  :-)

Update: 1545 hours March 30, 2020

Hi folks.   Thank you for stopping by.

We are certainly travelling through uncharted territory.  Never in recent modern times has Texas, the USA, nor the world witnessed an event like the Corona Virus.  It's very surreal.  And, every day, the numbers change and it seems the clouds continue to darken.

We are taking precautions to protect both employees and customers.  The retail store is closed through April 12th per the local County Judge's order, and this may get extended.

Outback Western Wear is blessed to have a wonderful team of dedicated employees who care about the business and serving our customers.  Daily, employees come in to ship online orders and perform basic functions necessary to keep the business running. Although we are not selling as much as we should be, our owner keeps employees busy with meaningful work that will ultimately benefit our customers, the employees, and the company.

Regardless of how long this situation continues, please know, we will trudge forward into the aftermath, together, with you.   The owner is a Marine.  He doesn't give up and he doesn't back down.

In no time, the clouds will break and the sun will rise, and a new day will dawn.  We will be right there with you.   Please be safe, and wash your hands.  :-)

God Bless.

Update: 1051 hours March 19, 2020

New Retail Store Hours. Given the early shutdown of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, we have moved forward in implementing new store hours for the retail store.  Basically, we are back to being closed on Sundays, and now also closed on Mondays.  The decision to close the retail store on Mondays is driven by the continued increase in online sales and in no way by the recent COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue shipping your online orders on Monday.

COVID-19 Update.  Like most folks around the world, the health and safety of our employees and customers are our top priority.  We continue to digest the news to determine a course of action that make sense for the company, our employees and our customers.  Thankfully, all employees are healthy.  As such, the retail store is open and so is the website where we continue receive and ship orders as quickly as they come in.  Both shipping partners, USPS and UPS, continue to function with their daily pickups and drop-offs.

We appreciate your continued business.  Please don't hesitate to contact us via phone or email should you have any questions.
